It is a jungle out there. Yet, when viewed through the lens of Zachary Adams‘ artwork, it’s a jungle where monkeys and birds hitch rides on the back of a hippo, and tigers stand on two legs and have dance parties in the forest.
Adams brings this same effusive outlook to his text-based work. Essentially love letters to real and imagined people, each piece is handwritten over a wash of color. The phrases range from the poetic: “Your eyes shine like the moon”, to the practical: “We could shop for food and cook pasta.” Each individual work is unique, direct and heartfelt, which may account for their popularity with visitors to the studio.
Adams was born in 1987 and has been making art at Creativity Explored since 2010. In 2011, a set of notecards was based on one of Adams‘ love letters.
